সিপিএম বা বামপন্থী শিবিরের রোদ্দূর রায় সংক্রান্ত একটা বেসিক অ্যাপাথি হল - লোকটা সহি কমিউনিস্ট তো নয়ই, কোনো বামপন্থী ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ডই নেই। ফলে তৃণমুল-বিরোধী বা বর্তমান রাজ্যসরকারের বিরুদ্ধ-মুখ কিংবা একেবারেই অন্য অ্যাঙ্গেলে জনমানসের ক্ষোভের বহিঃপ্রকাশের প্রতীক হিসেবে বা সার্বজনীন অন্যায়-করাপশনের বিরোধীতার মুখ হিসেবে লোকটা স্যোশাল মিডিয়ার বেসিক সমর্থন ও মাস-সাপোর্টে হিরো হয়ে উঠলে একটা ছোট্ট ছিছিক্কার সিপিএমের দিকে ওঠে যে একটা ফালতু গাঁজাখোর লোকও এইটুকু ক্ষোভ অন্তত উগড়ে দেখিয়ে দিল, ক্ষমতাকে নড়ে উঠতে বাধ্য করল - তোমরা আট বছর ধরে কি ছিঁড়ছ? আবার এই মাস সাপোর্ট, বিরোধীতার মুখ হিসেবে লেজেন্ডারি অ্যান্টি-স্টেট মুখগুলোর সাথে এক সারিতে এমন একটা ফ্যাতাড়ূকে দাঁড় করিয়ে দিচ্ছে যার ভারভারা রাও, স্ট্যান স্বামী, রোনা উইলসন, সুধা ভরদ্বাজ, আনন্দ তেলতাম্বড়ে বা গৌরী লঙ্কেশ, এম এম কালবুর্গির ধারেকাছে আসার প্রতিবাদী কৌলিন্য নেই। এমনকি প্রতিবাদ প্রতিরোধের ক্লাসিক বামপন্থী ঘরানা, স্লোগান, পোস্টারিং, মিছিল, ধর্ণা-র ধারেকাছে না এসে সেসবের নিষ্প্রয়োজন তথা ইনএফেক্টিভনেস, ইউজলেসনেসকেও এক্সপোজ করে দিচ্ছে এই লোকটা। সর্বোপরি ভিডিও ঘাঁটলে হয়তো দেখা যাবে জ্যোতি-বুদ্ধ-অনিল-বিমান-কারাত-ইয়েচুরিকেও প্রদত্ত খিস্তি ডকুমেন্টেড আছে। তো, এই প্রতিবাদ সহি প্রতিবাদ নয়, এই ক্ষোভপ্রকাশ সহি তরিকা নয় ইত্যাদি বলে লোকটাকে ম্যালাউন করে শেষে দুলাইনের ইতিগজ রাষ্টশক্তির ফ্যাসিজম ও রাজ্যে গণতন্ত্রের অবলুপ্তিকে ধিক্কার জানিয়ে তার মুক্তির দাবিতে সহমত জানানো - এইটাই এক্ষেত্রে সিপিএম এর স্ট্যান্স। অন্তত স্ট্যাম্প লাগানো বামপন্থীদের ফেসবুক পোস্ট ফলো করে যা বুঝছি। মোদ্দা, লোকটাকে ডিজওন করতে হবে আর শেষে 'তবু' শাসকের স্বেচ্ছাচারের দুলাইন নিন্দা করতে হবে।
হ্যাঁ, যে কথাগুলো আমরা প্রত্যেকে প্রতিদিন ঘরে নিজের মনে দাঁত কিড়মিড় করতে করতে, বাইরে ইয়ার দোস্তদের সাথে ফোনে কি চায়ের বা মালের আড্ডায় বলছি সেই কথাগুলো লোকটা ইউটিউবে চ্যানেল খুলে বলছে।
আর রোদ্দূর রায়ের চ্যানেলের তিন লাখ ছত্রিশ হাজার সাবস্ক্রাইবার দেখে যারা হিংসেয় জ্বলছেন তারা একটু খেয়াল করবেন চ্যানেলে আদৌ গুগুল অ্যাডসেন্স ব্যবহার করা আছে কিনা অর্থাৎ চ্যানেলটি গুগুল মানিটাইজেসন পলিসিতে আদৌ এনরোলড কিনা।

Section 120B in The Indian Penal Code
1[120B. Punishment of criminal conspiracy.—
(1) Whoever is a party to a criminal conspiracy to commit an offence punishable with death, 2[imprisonment for life] or rigorous imprisonment for a term of two years or upwards, shall, where no express provision is made in this Code for the punishment of such a conspiracy, be punished in the same manner as if he had abetted such offence.
(2) Whoever is a party to a criminal conspiracy other than a criminal conspiracy to commit an offence punishable as aforesaid shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding six months, or with fine or with both.]
Section 417 in The Indian Penal Code
417. Punishment for cheating.—Whoever cheats shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
Section 153 in The Indian Penal Code
153. Wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot—if rioting be committed—if not committed.—Whoever malignantly, or wantonly, by doing anything which is illegal, gives provocation to any person intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause the offence of rioting to be committed, shall, if the offence of rioting be committed in consequence of such provocation, be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both; and if the offence of rioting be not committed, with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both.
Section 501 in The Indian Penal Code
501. Printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory.—Whoever prints or engraves any matter, knowing or having good reason to believe that such matter is defamatory of any person, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 504 in The Indian Penal Code
504. Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.—Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 505 in The Indian Penal Code
1[505. Statements conducing to public mischief.—2[
(1) ] Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report,—
(a) with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, any officer, soldier, 3[sailor or airman] in the Army, 4[Navy or Air Force] 5[of India] to mutiny or otherwise disregard or fail in his duty as such; or
(b) with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquility; or
(c) with intent to incite, or which is likely to incite, any class or community of persons to commit any offence against any other class or community, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to 6[three years], or with fine, or with both. 7[(2) Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes.—Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement or report containing rumour or alarming news with intent to create or promote, or which is likely to create or promote, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
(3) Offence under sub-section (2) committed in place of worship, etc.—Whoever commits an offence specified in sub-section (2) in any place of worship or in an assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship or religious ceremonies, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to five years and shall also be liable to fine.]
(Exception) —It does not amount to an offence, within the meaning of this section when the person making, publishing or circulating any such statement, rumour or report, has reasonable grounds for believing that such statement, rumour or report is true and makes, publishes or circulates it 8[in good faith and] without any such intent as aforesaid.]
Section 509 in The Indian Penal Code
509. Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.—Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any woman, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen, by such woman, or intrudes upon the privacy of such woman, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
Section 153A in The Indian Penal Code
157 [153A. Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.—
(1) Whoever—
(a) by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise, promotes or attempts to promote, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, or
(b) commits any act which is prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, and which disturbs or is likely to disturb the public tranquillity, 2[or] 2[(c) organizes any exercise, movement, drill or other similar activity intending that the participants in such activity shall use or be trained to use criminal force or violence or knowing it to be likely that the participants in such activity will use or be trained to use criminal force or violence, or participates in such activity intending to use or be trained to use criminal force or violence or knowing it to be likely that the participants in such activity will use or be trained to use criminal force or violence, against any religious, racial, language or regional group or caste or community and such activity for any reason whatsoever causes or is likely to cause fear or alarm or a feeling of insecurity amongst members of such religious, racial, language or regional group or caste or community,] shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both. Offence committed in place of worship, etc.—(2) Whoever commits an offence specified in sub-section (1) in any place of worship or in any assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship or religious ceremonies, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to five years and shall also be liable to fine.]
Section 465 in The Indian Penal Code
465. Punishment for forgery.—Whoever commits forgery shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 467 in The Indian Penal Code
467. Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.—Whoever forges a document which purports to be a valuable security or a will, or an authority to adopt a son, or which purports to give authority to any person to make or transfer any valuable security, or to receive the principal, interest or dividends thereon, or to receive or deliver any money, movable property, or valuable security, or any document purporting to be an acquittance or receipt acknowledging the payment of money, or an acquittance or receipt for the delivery of any movable property or valuable security, shall be punished with 1[imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
Section 468 in The Indian Penal Code
468. Forgery for purpose of cheating.—Whoever commits forgery, intending that the 1[document or electronic record forged] shall be used for the purpose of cheating, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
Section 469 in The Indian Penal Code
469. Forgery for purpose of harming reputation.—Whoever commits forgery, 1[intending that the document or electronic record forged] shall harm the reputation of any party, or knowing that it is likely to be used for that purpose, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine.
